We're Talking The Bronx

Date: 01/25/2012

Hollywood actress Jennifer Garner was recently spotted using a specific hair tie, one made by Mott Haven entrepreneur Aida Dujarric of Cabecitas Lindas.

Celebrity spotting for local mom-preneur

Cabecitas Lindas, the start-up business founded by Bronx mother of three Aida Dujarric and featured in The Bronx Free Press in the May 11th, 2011 edition, has made it all the way to Hollywood.

As Dujarric explains it, “In late December, I was part of a holiday celebrity gifting and included tons of my hair accessories and hair ties.”

The ties made their way to the wrists (and presumably, hair of) Jennifer Garner, Hollywood actress of “Electra” fame, wife to Ben Affleck, and mother of two little girls, with another baby on the way. Garner was recently spotted with the “No Tug Hair Ties,” specifically the “Walk on the Wild Side”.

Dujarric, who has sought to position Cabecitas Lindas, and its decorative, intricate and high-quality pieces as the premier brand for hair accessories, was, naturally, thrilled.

She described it as a “small victory.”

“Hopefully, she will stick to using my brand,” added Dujarric, noting that other thin, black ties only “pull and tangle in your hair.”

Correction:

In the Bronx Free Press article, “Health disparities persist, despite tout in gains” by Sherry Mazzocchi in the Jan. 18th edition (Vol. 3, No. 03), the demographic group that experiences the highest infant mortality rate is not composed of Puerto Rican women, as the article originally noted. The group with the largest infant mortality rates is made up of African-American women. Puerto Rican woman suffer the second highest infant mortality rates. The Bronx Free Press regrets the error.
